WALKING ON GLASS, though a short book, is a potent and beautifully written novel that will linger in reader's mind lengthy following the dramatic last page. This is a story about a teen walking the hazardous edge of life and death choices. Really should he join a gang? Need to he pull the plug to end his mother's life? Each effective sentence is a little piece of a puzzle that slowly unfolds.
WALKING ON GLASS is sad, bold and brilliant. It would make a terrific read-aloud in middle schools/high schools for discussions about gangs, friendship, households and the traumatic concern of euthanasia.
Teachers, librarians, parents, teens -- do NOT miss this amazing book!

This no cost verse novel is brief, but it has a wide range of emotions. The major character, who is unnamed, keeps a journal at the request of his therapist. He's in therapy soon after he tried to save his mother from a suicide attempt, and her efforts rendered her comatose. The medical doctors say she'll in no way regain consciousness, but his father is unwilling to turn off the life help. The m.c. meets a beautiful girl who can't set him no cost from the cage of his grief and guilt meanwhile, his best buddy tries to lead him toward a darker path. WALKING ON GLASS is beautifully written and treats the concern of euthanasia with immense sensitivity.
